MIYAZAKI VS. MIYAZAKI
According to Nausicaa.net, the next film from Studio Ghibli will be directed by Goro Miyazaki. Who? It's Hayao Miyazaki's son, who until recently was known for his landscape gardening and was the director of the Studio Ghibli Museum.
Holy Nepotism, Batman! Well, not quite. Although the movie's details will be announced on December 13 (for a Summer 2006 release) apparently Hayao Miyazaki is "fiercely against the idea" according to producer Toshio Suzuki who announced the news at a lecture at Meiji University.

What's Goro's stance on this? Does he really think he's going to make a really good movie with his massive... landscaping experience?

Maybe it's a hard hitting animated feature that blows the lid off of the landscape gardening industry! LOL

I believe that Miyazaki's against the idea of announcing the film on December 13, rather than being against his son directing the film.

I don't have any idea whether it'll be good or not, but he (Goro Miyazaki) deserves respect, at the very least. To go against his dad, knowing his movie is always going to be compared to his father's... It takes alot of determination. And I think his movie will be good, it's got to be if it's that important to him.
