R-POINT & NATURAL CITY COMING TO US DVD
Tartan's Asian Extreme line is releasing Korea's Vietnam War ghost movie, R-POINT, on Region 1 DVD on February 14, and they're releasing the Korean, sci fi boondoggle, NATURAL CITY later this spring. NATURAL CITY was a huge flop when it was released in 2003, but R-POINT was the one big horror hit from Korea's 2004 summer horror line-up.
R-Point can be pre-ordered at Amazon.com.
That's the DVD cover art for R-POINT on the right.
I hope you had a Merry Christmas!

I wonder if the premise of R-POINT hadn't been so absolutely phenomenal, would I not have been so gravely disappointed in the execution? To be honest, I probably wouldn't because it was the premise that lured me to see the thing in the first place (I'm not that guy who sees every Korean horror film he can get his hands on, in fact I've seen embarrassingly few).

boy, that quote on the cover is scary: The best 'military-guys-meet-supernatural-evil' flick since Dog Soldiers.
That sure would make me buy it...
I think if people drop 'horror' expectations in terms of genre, the film delivers as far as atmosphere and the guilt of Koreans for the Vietnam war. Acting is good (Son Byung-Ho is so great), screenplay is not bad, production values tremendous. I like R-Point a lot.
