Jet Li's FEARLESSA sharp-eyed reader just pointed me towards the announcement of a North American release date for Jet Li's FEARLESS.....

....August 4, 2006. It's billed as a wide release which means at least 600 screens. It looks like Rogue is hoping to do the same thing for FEARLESS that they did for UNLEASHED (is that a good thing or a bad thing?).

Ladies and gentlemen, let STAR WARS-sized lines begin. Bring your sleeping bags and your dress-up fantasy kung fu robes.

I don't understand...if Hollywood films can open in Asia on dates that are close to their opening dates in the U.S., why can't Asian films get North American release dates that are closer to ones in their home plus associated territories? For maybe if so, they might get a larger U.S. box office. But as it is, surely a lot of their target audience will opt to view the films they want on parallel import DVDs and -- much worse -- illegal downloads?

I think it's great to see Asian films getting wide theatrical releases in the US. Plus, it's not like they waited and sat on the movie for 3 years before getting it out.

I myself have seen Fearless. It is a great movie. Good action and fighting. Good story line. Very entertaining. Jet Li's best action film yet, although his last. I liked it so much, I watched it at least five times in one weekend. So seriously, stop knockin on this door, because when this movie hits it will hit hard. I promise its not a sleeper like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon...

I completely agree with Stephen Siano, Crouching tiger opened our eyes but then every martial arts movie in the universe raped its special effects, and there were plenty of times where hidden dragon jus got a lil boring and slow, i cant wait for fearless, it's gonna be awsome. Jet Li is my second favorite martial artist next to Bruce Lee, because he's like the only famous martial artist that does Hsing-Yi, Tai-Chi, and Ba-Gua, and of course Wing-Chun!

I've searched all the theaters near me and Fearless is no where to be found. Is it coming out Aug. 4th???? I've waited long enough to see this movie and very excited. I also feel guilty for watching bootlegged stuff...how much longer do I have to wait?
