NEW DIRECTORS/NEW FILMS UNVEILS LINE-UP...

...and there's nothing Asian in it. MOMA's prestigious annual festival is where Lee Myung-Se's NOWHERE TO HIDE made its US bow, but this year's festival features not a single film from Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan or Korea. The only three Asian films are:

THE BLOSSOMING OF MAXIMO OLIVEROS from the Philippines.
CAVITE from the Philippines.
And and Indian film called JOHN AND JANE TOLL FREE.

Full line-up is here.

I was expecting/hoping for OXHIDE and am really disappointed that it's not here. Still, I guess the lack of Asian films may mean that more are available for you guys to show in June.

No asian film at ND/ NF?? You must be joking - Check new Indian pic "John & Jane" Toll-Free - plays like Tsai Ming Liang meets Soylent Green (but its a doc!)Totally fresh with a completely asian sensibility.. and some great music by Japanese electronic outfit Minamo. I saw it in Berlin - totally unmissable for fans of new asian work...
