SETH FISHER DIES
Seth Fisher, the Japan-based comic book artist, passed away last week after falling off the roof of a club in Osaka. Fisher lived in Japan with his wife and child, and although I don't know his age he was somewhere in his mid-30's. Fisher was probably the most talented and avante comic book artist working today and if you're in doubt you should check out his gorgeous-looking website.
He believed that art was just an extension of math and that it was merely another way to engage in problem solving. He also liked to shave his chest hair into funny shapes.

The original source for this story misidentified where Seth Fisher died. The club was in Nagoya, not Osaka.
Also - go check out Fisher's artwork on his website. It's really great stuff.

The original story was correct. He died in Osaka. His home was in Nagoya, and that is where his wife and son are.

Thanks for clearing that up. Several websites reported conflicting info - probably confusing the different locations.
I'd also like to take a moment to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. Seth was an incredibly talented artist, and I had recently been reading his comic BIG IN JAPAN and enjoying it immensely. For some reason the news of someone so talented dying at this age in such a stupid accident is particularly upsetting and unfair.
If there's anything fans like myself can do please don't hesitate to let us know.

Yes, you said it exactly right--so young and talented, and such a stupid accident. I appreciate the offers of help. We all feel helpless, and only God knows how to help. But thank you for your heartfelt kindness.
