BREAKING NEWS RUSSIAN REMAKE

It looks like Russia is trying to remake Johnnie To's BREAKING NEWS, looking to satirize the Russian manipulation of television news. It's being produced by Sam Klebanov of the distribution/production company, Film Without Borders.

Saw that one a year and a half ago. I thought the concept was great but it was intelligently executed, except for the camerawork for that long shootout of the opening sequence.
Some of the action sets were cool like using portable gas canisters as explosives and such but otherwise it wasn't anything special.

Lets see if the russians can do any better. Certainly they have a lot more material to draw on with all the shit putin's been doing lately.
