24 STARLETTE IN MY SASSY GIRL?

Elisha Cuthbert, the Canadian who plays Kim Bauer on 24 and who co-starred with Paris Hilton in HOUSE OF WAX, is in "final talks" to take the Jeon Ji-Hyun role in the remake of MY SASSY GIRL. The movie's logline appears in Variety as:

"Cuthbert would play a reckless, brazen girl who turns the life of a small-town guy from the Midwest upside down. Production is scheduled to start Oct. 16 in Gotham."

Oy vey. MY SASSY GIRL seemed to be such a product of Korean movies and culture, and such a delicate mix of melodrama and knockabout comedy, that I have a hard time imagining the things that made it work translating to this remake, but you never know. I promise not to judge it until at least November.

Yucccks!!!! Grady, *you* may promise not to judge it but as a fan of "24" as well as Asian cinema, would like to say that Elisha Cuthbert -- whose character is the one I would most like to see killed or written out of the series^ -- most certainly is no Jeon Ji-Hyun. :(

^ BTW, I have not seen the most recent season of "24" yet. So *if* Kim has been killed, PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME! At least not yet!!

'Yucccks!!!!' Doesn't even begin to convay how annoying her character on '24' is. Though this season wasn't so bad as she wasn't in that many episodes.

The idea of her playing the role in MY SASSY GIRL makes me shudder!!!

To be honest, I hated My Sassy Girl, but Cuthbert in the lead is far better than the rumored Jessica Alba.
