MORE CHINESE HORROR

Li Shaohong, who directed the absolutely stunning BAOBER IN LOVE, has just wrapped production on her horror/suspense flick, THE DOOR.

Starring Chen Kun the film was shot in Chongqing, and judging by the poster it's going to be as visually striking as BAOBER.

Li plans to work with a Hong Kong composer on the score, and this is her first feature film in 3 years (since BAOBER, in fact). Based on the web novel, DIVERGENCE, the script was written by Simon Sun, a USC grad, but I can't find much about the plot anywhere.

this might sound strange but both train and train station look very Dutch...

"...this is her first feature film in 3 years (since BAOBER, in fact)"

Don't forget that Li made 'Stolen Life' in 2005, also with Zhou Xun. Anyone who liked 'Baober in Love' should see it.

Right, but STOLEN LIFE was a made-for-TV movie. I've been wanting to see it, but haven't had the chance.

Yep - STOLEN LIFE was in Tribeca (and won an award for "Best Narrative Feature") but it was made as part of a series of movies for Chinese television. I don't think it wound up being shown on TV (sort of the same fate as Miike with "Masters of Horror") but it was shot on HD so it looks great, from what I've heard.
