THE NAME GAME CONTINUES
Roger Horta sends in this photographic evidence that SPL will continue to change names the way I change my socks, which I do only when traveling to a foreign country. In Spain, the SHA PO LANG DVD bears the name DUELO DE DRAGONES which in English, surprisingly, does not mean "Where is the place to wait for the bus?" but "Dragons Duel".

The box art is cooler than the US release.

It's better than Killzone.
Does Killzone even have anything to do with the movie?
I can just see the tagline: Everyone's dying to get into THE KILLZONE
or
Sammo Hung is: THE KILLZONE
I like the notion of Sammo as a walking Kill Zone.
Hell I like the idea of any one man being described as a territory of death unto himself. No man is an island, but one man can be an entire Kill Zone. Think about it. But not too hard.

uhahuahua, very good, I think the same. Or also:" The thought he was some fat bastard, but he is: Killzone!".

Not to be nit picky but "DUELO DE DRAGONES" translates to, "Dragon Duel" not "Dragons Duel."
If it were "Dragons Duel" it would be said in Spanish as, "Los Dragones Luchan".
And, although pretty generic, it is still much better a title than that Weinstein crap.
And the covers a lot better too. Notice that they put the stamp on there that it was accepted at the Toranto Film Festival.
And, while I HATE critic quotes on trailers and on DVD packages, they put a far better one on there than that stupid lame "smackdown" crap that is on the Weinstein.
The quote is from Variety and it says: "The best action movie that has come out of Hong Kong is a really long time".
Interesting that the Spanish DVD is being released by Paramount Pictures by the way.

notice they kept the characters for "sha po lang" also. it's a chicken/egg question really, when miramax pushes the idea americans will accept KILL ZONE better the more decontextualized it is (like most hype/outrage/pleasure-driven media content really.) they've consistently ensured the unfortunate reality.
